My love for Fleur de Lis comes from being an Interior Designer. The pattern can be simple or intricate and it is ALWAYS beautiful! Look at those luscious hooks being offered over at Faded Plains! I need to get motivated to list my full garage of eBay stuff! I heart those hooks and will own some soon!!!

~* A Blast to the Past *~

Seth over at The Altered Page is a Blog Junkie!!! I am not being judgmental, because I am too. Should we start Blog Addicts Anonymous? Hmmm....gonna ponder that thought! Anyway, Seth is hosting a Buried Treasure on is blog. What is that you say???

Well...Buried Treasure is about digging deep to uncover some hidden gems. The premise is simple. On Thursday July 16 all participating Bloggers will re-post one (or more) of their favorite posts from their blog and Seth will post a list of all participating artists so that you can be sure to find all the Buried Treasure.

Hope to see you on the 16th to see what I have uncovered from the past!

~* We Are The World *~

This has always been one of my favorite songs. I remember when this came out in the 80's it made me cry and to this day it still brings tears to my eyes! Imagine my delight when I saw this video with one of my favorite Deaf performers Bernard Bragg. I have met BB in person and he is such a wonderful soul. I really enjoyed watching this and hope you do to.

~* Hurrah for Red, White & Blue Swap *~

Recently I participated in a "Hurrah for Red, White and Blue Swap" sponsored by Sweet Goodness Swaps. This is the second swap I have participated in with Sweet Goodness Swaps. This time my partner was Susan from NJ, not sure if she has a blog because I was never given an addy. Here are the goodies I received....This when I just opened the box. I was ready to explore the box of goodies. Here is the items laid out on my dining room table. I promptly hung The Star and Flag decorations on my Front door. Which helped my home look ready for the holiday and the BBQ that would be taking place here. The Flag on the outside and the Star on the inside. As you can see they match perfectly with my White door! I am so glad these arrived in time! And last but not least the Pewter Stars that are now hanging in my Kitchen window. I love this piece! Very all American!!

I sent goodies too! Here they are in all their glory.

The "God BLess Our Family" frame was an Awesome find, there are some vintage coasters, some USA tattoos for her son, a White table cloth with Red and Blue weights, Alphabet stickers, Ribbon, pens, post it notes, a little pail to hold fun things, an American Flag hanging decoration, sprinkles for cookies or cake, a car magnet and last but not least a Journal that I made.
I love making these Journals. They are alot of fun. The paper I used for the cover was the last one on the shelf and I was really sad about that because I really loved it! I fell in love with the butterfly when I saw them in the store! I even made a pocket in the inside cover which can hold special items or be a place to hold one of the Pens I sent her! I am so happy with the way that this Journal turned out and really hope Susan enjoys it too!

I am hosting my first ever Swap and hope that many of you will join! Come by next week on the 7th to sign up for a fun Wine Themed Swap! I love Wine and I know many others do too! Please take the button and share it on your blog too!

~* BEAUTIFUL BEDROOM *~

This is Part 1! We are not finished, but I wanted to share with you all the progress we are making.

I have stated before that we moved into this house four months ago. All the walls are White!! As an Interior Designer, I need COLOR!! My daughter's room is the first room that we updated. I recently bought her a new bed and she is very happy to get rid of the futon that she has been using as a bed. The Gorgeous Wrought Iron Headboard and Foot board I bought on Craigslist for $65!!!!!!! Yes, you read it right! Can you say "SCORE!!!" Look at the Detail!!!
We painted her wall a beautiful shade of Turquoise. This was suppose to match the "Tiffany Blue" color, but the guy at the store made it darker. My daughter is pleased, so I am pleased.
The dresser has so much history. We have painted it a gazillion times!! Now it is black with white handles.

She has a bit of a Parisian theme along with her Damask bedding. She has a Awesome Eiffel Tower clock that she also hangs her necklaces from. We are still looking for a different comforter, as this one is a satiny material and slides off the bed way too easy (not only that, it looks as cheap as it actually was). < smirk >

She really loves the room and spends most of her time in it. Whether it be watching TV, listening to music or hanging out with friends. We still have another piece of furniture and a mirror to paint. Pictures to hang and a few other knick knacks to get. Stay tuned for Part 2~
