As many of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. What better way to get Awareness out there than to have a Giveaway! I am also committing myself to wearing my Pink "Hope" Bracelet for the month of October. Spreading Awareness is the Greatest gift we can give to others, even if we have not lost anyone to the disease. I am sure we all know someone that has. Give Awareness for your Mothers, Sisters, Daughters, Friends and Co-Workers!
We start of with a multi-pink colored ribbon with a metal heart made by yours truly! Next we have a note pad and pen that has a magnet on the bag for easy hanging on the fridge or other special spot. Awareness tissues with words such as: Hope, Promise, Courage and Support. Pink Ribbon Chip Clips for everything, not just Chips! Breast Cancer Awareness Silicone Spatula. An "I Love You" ASL pencil. A "Faith" Bracelet, like the one pictured below. Everything will be packaged in this Safeway Breast Cancer Awareness Shopping tote! (All items are brand new and have never been used!
If I get 100 entries into the Giveaway, I will include a handmade "PINK" Breast Cancer Awareness Bracelet made by me! ~* Got Japanese? *~
And No, for a change I do not mean Sushi! Although I do love Awesome Sushi! Last year some time I took a trip over to The East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse, which is HEAVEN for an Altered Artist like myself! I find those most wonderful and unusual things there. If you live in the Bay Area and have not visited, I suggest you do. I find more than just Art supplies, but that will be saved for a later post. Hint: Think Home Decor! Anyway, back to Japanese! I found these Beautiful little bottles of Color!
I have no idea what they are used for, as I do not speak or read Japanese. However, I thought they might be useful...don't ask me how...yet! I think I paid 10 Cents for each bottle! I think they are ink or for silk screening, as they colors says..Silk Violet, Silk Green, Silk Red and Silk Burnt Umber. The two without any wrapping on the I am assuming to be a Blue and Lighter Brown color because of the labels. Can anyone tell me what they are and what they are used for?? Or maybe I should just take them in with me next time I go have Sushi? Hmmm....that sounds good for Lunch! Care to join me?

~* First Day of School *~
Today was the first day of my daughter's Junior High School year. Wow! I can not believe I have a daughter that is a Junior in High School! Where did the time go? Simpler times when I could do her hair and she was not worried about the latest cool label on her jeans! Some time during the wee hours I crept into her room and grabbed her mirror. I wanted to start her first day off with an inspirational message and lovingly wrote the following:
Taylor,
You are a Smart, Beautiful & Strong young woman! I believe in you, it is time for you to start believing in yourself! You can do anything you set your mind to. Start Dreaming BIG!!! Have a Wonderful Year! I Love You! Mom
I cried a bit after I wrote it. Realizing my baby is not a baby anymore, which I do every first day of school, every Birthday and every Christmas!
Every year since she has started school, we have gone to lunch on the first day of school. Today, I was really excited to take her to lunch. She walked in the door with a friend and asked if she could go to lunch with friends. Sigh...Where did the time go?
