My hearing loss has made me very passionate about ASL. This year I have decided to create more Art incorporating ASL. I made this ASL "Dream" Charm Bracelet recently and have it up on eBay.
I recently learned that Marlee Matlin will be on "Dancing with the Stars". I usually do not watch this show, but to show my support for the Deaf, I will definately be tuning in (and DVRing).
I also recently learned that she will be appearing in a CBS special called "Sweet Nothing in My Ear" on April 1, 2008 (no April Fools here). This is another show I will be DVRing. It is an amazing story, that I am sure is a reality in many home of Hearing/Deaf Parents.
That's a really nice bracelet. You are very talented. I really like the sign language incorporated into the bracelet. It gives it so much meaning!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathryn! What a cool bracelet! I've added you to my blog as well :). Have a great week!

You make such beautiful things! I had temporary hearing loss in my right ear from a car accident. It was pretty scary since we didn't know if my hearing would come back or not.
ReplyDeleteWe've been teaching our girls (well, the oldest one, anyways) a little bit of sign language to help her use her words better.
I look forward to reading more about you on your blog!
