I thought it was adorable and thought if I ever came across a teapot that would work, that I would try to make one myself. It is a great way to recycle and would make a Fabulous gift! Fast forward 2 days later, I was out in one of my Thrifting adventures when I spied this out of the corner of my eye!!
I was SUPER excited, I
Last weekend we went up to my Uncles house to spend some time with family that was here from out of state. I knew that my Uncle would have ALL of the tools I needed to make the pot. I had decided to make it for my Aunt and Uncle. They love nature and have many different feeders and bird dwellings. I knew it would be perfect for their yard.
My Uncle and I started working on it on Saturday afternoon. I found some wood that I could use for the base and back laying around my Uncles yard. The process was relatively quick and painless. No injuries or broke pieces!
Here it is on the work bench. We went off to drink as the glue dried. I checked on it often to make sure none of the kids or my Aunt had messed with it. With 10 kids around that weekend, I was sure someone would want to touch it and move it around. Luckily, everyone stayed away from it.
And here is the finished product. It was really great spending time with my Uncle working on the project. We have decided that we will make more, as soon as I am able to
I am especially happy that this only cost me $2.00!! That is a savings of over $40!!
Perhaps you will come across a teapot and try it for yourself or as a gift for someone too!!
