copied & pasted from Bernie's site ;)

HELP A PLACE TO BARK WIN A $50,000 GRANT !!!!!

A Place to Bark is participating in a challenge being offered Six Degrees, partnered with the Case Foundation and Parade on America's Giving Challenge. The four USA charity badges that have the most unique donors through the America's Giving Challenge will receive $50,000 for their cause. We are entered in this contest and need the help of each and every one of you. The Challenge ends on January 31, 2008 at 3:00 pm EST. Each $10 donation gets us one step closer to winning a grant of $50,000!!!

Please donate by clicking the orange "donate" button Below. Please make sure you have enabled popups on your browser, the donation box opens in a new window. Donations are tax deductible. Payment can be made via paypal or credit card. Each and every $10 donation from each new person gets us closer to our goal of winning and being able to build a shelter for the animals rescued by A Place to Bark. We need the most amount of individual donors (not the most amount of money) to win. Each person who donates $10 is only counted once toward the grant contest. Thank you for telling all of your friends, your family and anyone you can --- to donate just $10 to our cause!

All donations made to A Place to Bark's Six Degrees Badge (below), will be matched by the "Zoline Foundation" up to $25,000.00!!! It's a win-win! Thank you!! Thank you!!!! Thank you!!!!

OOAK Valentine's Day Card

I was messing around today at my Art desk and decided to make a Valentine's Day Card. I don't have a Valentine this year so I will probably list this on eBay or Etsy. I used once of my coaster blanks, stamped "Italian Poetry" by Hero Arts and embossed it with Stampin Up! white powder. I added Prima blooms with lace and writing on the flowers and tacked them down with Red heart brads. I used a black and white image from Lunagirl. The "Be Mine" & "Forever" tiles are from Collage Keepers. Fibers are from Craftworks. I am leaving the inside black so whom ever buys it can add their own sentiments.

Artful Blessings,
Kathryn

I HAVE A DREAM....

I have a dream that I will continue to make a difference in my Daughters life. Showing her that with love and compassion are the best ways to go through life. Accepting her for the wonderful person she continues to become. And to love her Unconditionally, Forever!

Although my Dream is not as profound as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I hope that it makes a difference in just one life....My Daughter.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

From the "I Have a Dream" speech, Aug. 28, 1963

My Art on eBay

Yesterday I took advantage of the 20 cent listing fee on eBay and listed a bunch of stuff. I also listed a Sconce that I had made about a year ago. I just love the Old World theme. I just do not have any place for it in my home. Stop by eBay and check it out!

What Color Crayon are You?

You Are a Green Crayon
Your world is colored in harmonious, peaceful, natural colors. While some may associate green with money, you are one of the least materialistic people around.Comfort is important to you. You like to feel as relaxed as possible - and you try to make others feel at ease. You're very happy with who you are, and it certainly shows!
Your color wheel opposite is red. Every time you feel grounded, a red person does their best to shake you.

1st ASL ART of the Year!

Last year in my journal I had written down things I would like to create incorporating ASL. This pendant is an example of one of the things on my list. I have made this for my good friend Diane. We have an ASL Practice group on Meetup.com. Diane and I meet through the group, but as it turns out I went to High School with Diane and her sister Darcy. I am going to be offering these custom Glass Pendants on Etsy and eBay. Wish me Luck!

I participated in a Theme Thursday Challenge. The task was to create a piece of art reflecting "Valentines". The base is a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 coaster. Enjoy!

ZNE

I belong to a wonderful group called ZNE. This group is for Artists and is a forum to share our creativity. I love being apart of this group! I attend the monthly meetings in Pleasanton and get to create ART with other wonderful Artists. I am usually the last one finished, because it is hard for me to have a conversation and do my Art at the same time; due to my hearing loss. I am so inspired by all the artists and reminded everyday that there are beautiful creations being made all over the world. Yep, that's right ZNE is an International group. So, if you are an Artist and looking for a great group of talented people...hop on over and check ZNE out! Even if you are not an Artist, but love to look at other peoples Art.

Kathryn
